I’m excited to be going back to Wyoming for another Out of Grand Teton photo conference in autumn of 2026!

I was an instructor for the first Out of Grand Teton conference last June, and it was so much fun. The Tetons are known for their spectacular mountain landscapes, and rightfully so – the scenery is amazing. But it’s also a wonderful place to photograph wildlife and intimate scenes. I think everyone in the conference enjoyed photographing all of it; I certainly did! We captured some memorable sunrises and sunsets, photographed beautiful flowers, trees, and ponds, and had memorable wildlife encounters with moose, bears, otters, a fox, and a host of other animals.

The second edition of this conference will take place in late September of 2026, with the aspens, cottonwoods, and willows turning color, and during the rutting season for elk and moose. Once again I’ll be joined by a stellar lineup of fellow instructors, including David Kingham, Kristen Ryan, Nick Page, David Akoubian, Huibo Hou, John Barclay, Cole Thompson, Eric Bennett, Stephanie Johnson, Joseph Rossbach, Michele Sons, and a bunch more – 18 instructors in all!

And in this conference, for the first time, participants will be able to choose tracks to focus on what they’re most interested in – grand landscapes, wildlife, or creative and intimate scenes. I’ll be teaching the creative and intimate track, but there’ll be lots of crossover, and everyone will get to photograph a wide variety of subjects.

We’ll be staying deep inside the park at the Jackson Lake Lodge, with great views of the Tetons right from the grounds, plus a good chance of seeing moose in the willow flats below the lodge. And it’ll be a short drive from there to most of the best locations in the Tetons.

If you’ve been to one of the Out of Chicago conferences before, you know how much fun they are. Getting so many passionate photographers together in a beautiful location like this creates wonderful synergy and camaraderie, plus lots of learning, and great photo opportunities. And if you haven’t been to one of these events, well, this is would be a great one to start with!

Until June 30th you can get $500 off the conference registration by using the code TETONS500. You can learn more about the conference or register here:
