Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the United States. I know most people around the world don’t celebrate this holiday, or do so in a different form, or on a different day.

But regardless of whether you honor the traditions of this particular day, I think there’s value in gratitude – to giving thanks for all the things we have to be grateful for. We really should do that every day, but it’s good to have that reminder once a year.

I know I have a lot to be grateful for. I’m very thankful for my family and friends. I’m very lucky to have been married to the same kind and beautiful woman for 37 years. Our son is now married, so I’m grateful that he’s settled and happy, and I hope our son’s marriage is as long and happy as ours. My sister-in-law just came through a major surgery successfully.

I feel very lucky just to be alive and healthy on this beautiful planet, and to have a job that allows me to get out and experience that beauty. And I’m very grateful to you, my blog readers, for your continued support and participation. I started this blog back in 2009 – and did so rather reluctantly. Who has time for something like that? But Claudia insisted that a blog would be good for me, and she was right. Once I got started I really enjoyed it, and still do. And a big part of that is the interaction with all of you who read these posts. I so appreciate all the comments and discussions – thank you!

Whether or not you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you all have a lot to be thankful for!
