Upcoming Exhibit at The Ansel Adams Gallery

My exhibit at The Ansel Adams Gallery ended July 15th, but prints are still available at the old price until August 1st. The show, titled "Contrast," included straight landscapes, high-key images, and some nighttime work. Most of the images had never been exhibited before; click here to view a slide show of the exhibit.

Yosemite Renaissance Awards

Redbud Reflection

Of my three images selected for the prestigious annual Yosemite Renaissance exhibit, two received awards: Redbud Reflection in the Merced River (above), was the People's Choice Award winner, and Spotted Aspens, Lundy Canyon (below) received a second place award.

This annual competition is open to all visual art mediums and is "intended to encourage diverse artistic interpretations of Yosemite." The exhibit will be on view in the Yosemite Museum until May. See the Yosemite Renaissance web site for more information.

A selection of my nighttime and high-key photographs are on exhibit at the Marvin Silver Gallery, located within the Silver Fox Vineyards in Mariposa, California, about an hour west of Yosemite.

The gallery is open by appointment; call Marvin or Karen Silver at 209-966-4800.

Outdoor Photographer Article

My latest article for Outdoor Photographer Magazine, titled, "Extraordinary Light," appeared in the December 2007 issue. The article expands on lighting topics I often discuss in my workshops, like how soft light always has direction, or how differences in color temperature can be used to your advantage. Although the magazine is no longer available on newsstands, you can read the article on Outdoor Photographer's web site.

Another Article in Digital SLR User Magazine

I was featured in the "Big Interview" of the December 2007 issue of the U.K.'s Digital SLR User magazine. The article mainly focuses on my nighttime landscapes.

The editor, Terry Hope, interviewed me in October for this article. Terry had previously written about me in his book The World's Top Photographers: Landscape, and for Professional Photographer magazine (U.K.).
