Mentoring Program

This program provides a unique opportunity to make a big leap forward in your photography by getting one-on-one help, feedback, and assignments from me.

We can work on whatever will be the most help to you – composition, light, field techniques, planning, image processing, organization, printing – you name it. We’ll begin by reviewing your portfolio, then create an individual plan to help you improve your photography. In subsequent meetings we’ll review your assignment(s), spend time working on improving your skills where needed, discuss your next assignment, and so on. We’ll work together to tailor the program to your exact needs, in order to help you have more fun with your photography, improve your skills, and make images that express your unique vision.

The program includes six monthly 90-minute online meetings using Zoom. It’s only available to a limited number of participants, still at the introductory price of $1500.

If you’re interested in joining the mentoring program, please email us to see if a space is available, or to join the waiting list.

Mentoring Program FAQ

How do we schedule the online meetings?

Once you sign up, either Claudia or I will email you to schedule the first meeting at a time that works for both of us. We’ll work with you to schedule the subsequent meetings as we go along.

Do I need any special software or equipment for the online meetings?

Most people are familiar with Zoom these days. Your computer will need a camera and microphone so that I can see and hear you, but other than that it doesn’t require any special equipment. We’ll send you a meeting link and instructions as the first meeting approaches.

Are there any limits to what we can cover in the meetings?

Not really; we can cover whatever you want to work on – composition, field technique, camera settings, Lightroom, Photoshop, workflow, image organization, printing, planning photos using sun/moon and weather apps, and so on. Keep in mind that I’m a landscape photographer, and while the principles of light and composition are the same in every genre, some of the nuances of, say, portrait or sports photography are outside my area of expertise. And while I’m very knowledgeable about Lightroom and Photoshop, there are many other programs out there that I’m not as familiar with.

Is the Schedule Flexible?

Absolutely. Meeting approximately once a month works well for most people, but we can make the intervals between meetings longer if that fits your schedule better.
