Happy Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the United States, a day of gratitude.

As a photographer, one of the things I’m thankful for is the art and craft of photography itself. Photography encourages me to get out and see things I would otherwise miss. I’ve been lucky to witness so many extraordinarily beautiful moments that I would never have seen without the camera tugging at me and telling me to go look – to pay attention to the beauty around me.

And I’m always especially thankful for all of you, my readers. Your participation, ideas, and passion for photography make writing this blog a pleasure. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday, filled with good company, good food, and many things to be grateful for.

Michael: I really appreciate your writing style, like that in the message above. I have read almost all your blog write-ups and your books. Hope to go to one of your workshops to Yosemite one day soon where there won’t be a lot of hiking. My wife and I attended a photo safari in Yellowstone with Brent Paull not long ago. Had great fun. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Claudia and family!
Thanks for inspiring us with all hour great images, this blog, and all your teachings.Hope to take a private workshop sometime in the next year as when my work allows. I agree seeing all this natural beauty and trying to capture it is always a great pleasure and much needed break from my work. It was nice to meet you out in the redwoods in the very spot where I think this picture was taken. One of my favorite spots.
    Thanks again Michael!
